In partnership with Healthy Start Southwest Florida, which operates the Southwest Florida Diaper Bank, Lee County has launched a drive to collect diapers to promote health and provide economic stability for families.

Last month, the Lee County Commission approved a resolution recognizing National Diaper Need Awareness Week — recognized this year as Sept. 14-20 — but wanted to do more to help.

From now through Friday, Oct. 23, designated Lee County Public Libraries and Parks & Recreation facilities are accepting donated diapers and related supplies for distribution to Lee County families.

The most needed items are: diapers, newborn through size 6; toddler pull-ups; diaper wipes; diaper cream; and child training pants.
