The Master Gardeners will hold its first, free garden tour of the new season from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Cape Coral Museum of History.

The garden is a recognized Florida Friendly Landscape (FFL) by the University of Florida, which means that there are not any invasive plants in the garden, only native and friendly plants.

Attendees will learn about the FFL’s “9 Principals” of landscaping and gardening. They will also see mature plantings that can help them visualize how they will look in their own landscape.

In addition, there is a new butterfly garden and a food forest, as well as friendly landscape areas.

The group will hold the tours each month from October through April.

Parking is free for attendees.

The museum will also be open for docent-led tours for those interested. For parties of six or more, call the museum at 239-772-7037.

The Cape Coral Museum of History is at 544 Cultural Park Blvd., Cape Coral.
