Cape-Lee library featuring display in recognition of Constitution Week
Through the month of September, the Lawrence Kearny Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will have a display at the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library in Cape Coral.
Every year, the chapter creates a display for Constitution Week, recognized as Sept. 17-23.
“We should remember that the United States Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights,” it reported.
The chapter provides a copy of the Constitution and DAR explanations and facts about the Constitution and Constitution Week, along with labeled items indicative of the Revolutionary era such as an ink well and quill pen, selected art, and characters to enhance the display.
In addition, library staff selects and includes books that focus on the U.S. Constitution, and the library is increasing its inventory for future years.
This year, library Youth Services and Senior Librarian Heather Gilham assisted with the logistics of the DAR display.
The display is located outside of the Children’s Library.
The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library is at 921 SW 39th Terrace, Cape Coral.
