School District to hold Transportation Job Fair on July 23
The School District of Lee County will be holding a Transportation Job Fair Thursday, July 23, welcoming Southwest Florida job seekers interested in positions as school bus operators and mechanics. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m. at The School District of Lee County, 2855 Colonial Blvd., in Fort Myers.
The event provides candidates with an opportunity to speak directly with transportation recruiters and learn about open positions, qualifications, and next steps in the hiring process.
Minimum qualifications for bus drivers include at least five years of driving experience, a satisfactory driving record and a Social Security card. The School District provides free training for candidates who do not already possess a commercial driver’s license.
Starting pay for bus drivers and mechanics is $19.57 per hour, and immediate job openings are available. The School District offers flexible hours and benefits for full-time employees.
