Bender named to Kennesaw State’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List
KENNESAW, Ga. — Chase Bender of Cape Coral has been named to Kennesaw State University’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List in recognition of academic achievement.
Majoring in Information Systems, Bender is among more than 9,000 students named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of nine credit hours.
Kennesaw State University, which offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees to its more than 51,000 students, is a member of the University System of Georgia with 11 academic colleges. Kennesaw State is a Carnegie-designated doctoral research institution (R2), placing it among an elite group of only 8% of U.S. colleges and universities with an R1 or R2 status. UNG cadet Duffy honored at awards ceremony
DAHLONEGA, Ga. — About 100 military awards and scholarships were presented to University of North Georgia cadets at the March Military Awards Ceremony and the Military Awards Review during Alumni Weekend in April.
Cadets were presented with awards and scholarships for academic achievement, potential for leadership, and high moral character.
Cadet Jack Duffy from Cape Coral received the Georgia Mountain Chapter of MOAA Cadet Scholarship.
The University of North Georgia, which comprises five campuses, is a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia. With 20,317 students, the University of North Georgia is one of the state’s largest public universities. The university offers more than 100 programs of study ranging from certificate and associate degrees to doctoral programs.

Rhea earns degree from Belmont University
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Belmont University held its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, in the Curb Event Center. As part of Belmont’s Class of 2026, Marlee Rhea earned a master of sport administration in sport administration.
Across four ceremonies, the university collectively recognized more than 1,500 candidates among bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral candidates in its 2026 commencement proceedings.
Belmont University consists of nearly 9,000 students who come from every state and 33 countries. With more than 115 areas of undergraduate study, 41 master’s programs and five doctoral degrees, Belmont University aims to be the leading Christ-centered university in the world. IMAG Back-To-School Bash Aug. 15
The IMAG History & Science Center is holding an IMAG Back-To-School Bash Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids 18 years old and under are free with the purchase of adult admission.
The IMAG Back-To-School Bash 2026 is a fun carnival of games and activities with prizes where guests can learn about the IMAG History and Science Center’s STEM Homeschool programs and STEM Club Afterschool Programs. At the carnival, guests can also learn about IMAG Scouting programs and Camp IMAG, camp programs throughout the year, as well as IMAG Birthday Parties, Special Events, Science Saturdays, Family Nights, Memberships, and more. IMAG is also planning other activities and crafts in the museum for kids and families including animal shows, science shows and more.
