Jennifer’s invites community to help fight hunger through June food drive
Jennifer’s Boutique is inviting the community to help fight hunger this summer through its annual food drive benefiting Community Cooperative. During June, shoppers who donate 10 or more non-perishable food items will receive 20% off their entire purchase.
“For 14 years, our customers have shown incredible generosity in supporting Community Cooperative through this summer tradition,” said Jennifer Williams. “Every donation helps local families put food on the table, and we’re grateful to partner with an organization that does so much for our community.”
Summer can be one of the most challenging times for families experiencing food insecurity, according to Stefanie Ink, Chief Executive Officer of Community Cooperative. “Many children no longer have access to school meal programs during the summer months, which places added strain on household budgets. Support from community partners like Jennifer’s helps us meet the growing need and continue serving families across Southwest Florida.”
Last year, Jennifer’s customers donated more than 900 pounds of food. This year, the boutique hopes to collect even more to support Community Cooperative’s food pantry and outreach efforts.
Most-needed donation items include:
• Canned tuna, chicken, ham and beef
• Beans, canned vegetables and canned fruit
• Brown rice, whole wheat pasta and pasta sauce
• Soup, cereal, macaroni and cheese
• Hamburger, chicken or tuna helper meals
• Kid-friendly snacks and allergy-free foods
• Canned milk

Since 1984, Community Cooperative has provided food, education and social service programs to individuals and families throughout Southwest Florida, helping neighbors in need move toward stability and self-sufficiency.
