Blakemore, Till recognized for academic achievement at Albion College
ALBION, Mich. — Albion College has recognized local students who participated in the 36th Annual Elkin R. Isaac Student Research Symposium, along with students who received academic awards during the College’s annual Honors Convocation.
Cape Coral student Brooklyn Blakemore co-presented a research project poster on “Using Comparative Genomics to Inform Efforts to Conserve the Puerto Rican Parrot” during Albion College’s 2026 Elkin R. Isaac Student Research Symposium. Blakemore is majoring in psychology with a minor in cell and molecular biology with a concentration in the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service. Blakemore is the child of Danny Blakemore and Renee Oelke of Taylor and is a graduate of Mariner High School.
Cape Coral student Rebecca Till received recognition for having the highest grade point average in the Class of 2028 at Albion College’s recent Honors Convocation. Till is majoring in biology with a minor in biochemistry and is a member of the Lisa and James Wilson Institute for Medicine and the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program. Till is the child of Ryan and Marcy Till of Woodinville and is a graduate of Cedarcrest High School.
