The city of Cape Coral will host an interactive festival this weekend that focuses on the importance of local water.

The city is inviting all members of the public to the WaterWays Science Festival on Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Cultural Park.

This free, family-friendly event will include educational activities and games that focus on the importance of local waterways. Attendees will learn about local, regional, and global water concerns.

“The festival offers residents and families a unique opportunity to engage with the community and deepen their understanding of water-related issues,” said city spokesperson, Lauren Kurkimilis. “This event features educational activities and games that emphasize the significance of our waterways. Educational opportunities at the festival include interactive exhibits and activities designed to inform residents about water conservation, pollution prevention, and the ecological significance of local waterways.

“These learning experiences can help our residents promote environmental stewardship and encourage community involvement in safeguarding our water resources,” Kurkimilis said.
