Rev. Gibbons named rector at Epiphany Episcopal Church

Institution and induction program set for Saturday at the Cape church

The Rev. Edward F.P. Gibbons

Epiphany Episcopal Church, Cape Coral, will have an institution and induction of the Rev. Edward F.P. Gibbons as its fourth rector. 

The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m., at the church. The Rt. Rev. Dabney T. Smith, bishop of Southwest Florida, is scheduled to officiate at this Holy Eucharist Rite II service. A reception will follow in the parish hall. 

Gibbons was ordained into the priesthood on Oct. 18, 1997, in Dublin, Ireland. He received a B.A. degree in theology and philosophy from All Hallows Seminary, Dublin, and a master’s degree in social work from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

Gibbons served as chaplain at Hope Healthcare/Hospice and has ministered in several Episcopal parishes in Southwest Florida before being called to Epiphany on Aug. 1, 2021.

He is married to his loving wife Alicia and resides in Cape Coral.

Epiphany Episcopal Church is located at 2507 Del Prado Blvd., South, Cape Coral, FL 33904. Sunday Services are at 8 a.m. (Rite I) and 9:30 a.m. (Rite II) with Choir. All are welcome at the church.
