Book signing
A book signing for “Images of America: Cape Coral” will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. Monday at the Cape Dog & Deli, 1227 Cape Coral Parkway E. Author Chris Wadsworth will sell and sign copies of the latest history book, which explores the Cape’s early years. Featuring more than 200 historic photographs, the book captures the city’s birth and development.
Rotary Park Environmental Center
Rotary Park Environmental Center, 5505 Rose Garden Road, presents:
– Today: Orchid potting lecture and demonstration, for ages 16 and older, from 5:30-7 p.m. Cost is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Cape Harbour
Cape Harbour presents:
– Monday: Seven boats will set course for the Cape Harbor Marina for three days of fun, sun, swimming and shopping. The first mates will bring dishes to pass for a pot luck on the first night at a dock party. The next day will be spent swimming, shopping and having cocktails before dinner at a fine restaurant. Day three will be time to say goodbye and enjoy the cruise back to home docks.
Island Dolphin Sunset Cruise
Island Dolphin Sunset Cruise from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today, Oct. 31 and Nov. 11. Cost is $30 plus tax for ages 10 and older, and $20 plus tax for ages 2-9. Holiday lights cruises are $34 plus tax.
Lake Kennedy Senior Center

Native plant sale
The Coccoloba Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will host the annual native plant sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Manatee Park, 10901 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers. All plants are from local growers and appropriate for Southwest Florida growing conditions. Select from a variety of shrubs, vines, trees and butterfly plants. The plants are chemical-free and safe for butterflies. On-site experts will help with questions and selections. Manatee Park is open from 8 a.m.sunset daily. No pets please. Auditions for ‘The King and I’
Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre will hold open auditions for “The King and I” for adults and children from 10 a.m.2 p.m. Saturday at 1380 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers. Secret Santas
Secret Santas are needed for troops serving in the Middle East. Two hundred fifty stuffed stockings, either homemade or bought, will be needed for the third Annual Christmas project. Donate stockings, stuffers or both. Candy, gum, deodorant, sunscreen, lip balm, hand wipes and hand sanitizer, liquid bodysoap, beef jerky and snacks, small packages of cookies, phone cards, toothbrushes and toothpaste, dental floss, individual packets of hot chocolate and individual packets of Tylenol and Advil. Also, cards signed by the donors are needed as stuffers. Drop off items at the Iona McGregor Fire Department, 6061 South Pointe Blvd., Fort Myers, or call for pick up. Deadline is Oct. 31.
