Barry Sell gets family practice recertification

Dr. Barry J. Sell, of Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida, has successfully completed the recertification examination of the American Board of Family Medicine to become one of only two physicians in Lee County who have been certified and recertified five times.

Sell is a family practice physician at the Cape Coral Family Practice Office of Physicians’ Primary Care, 1255 Viscaya Parkway.

The American Board of Family Medicine, one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties, is the second largest medical specialty board in the United States.

Sell has practiced medicine at Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida since 1996, and has practiced medicine in Cape Coral since 1975.

Sell earned his bachelor of arts degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and his master of science degree from Rutgers in New Brunswick, before earning his doctor of medicine degree from New York Medical College.

He served his internship at the United States Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif., and was a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy.

Sell is a member of the Lee County Medical Society, the Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Medical specialties include internal medicine, family practice, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics.

Nine offices are conveniently located in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres.
