HCA Florida Healthcare unveils first rendering of planned Cape Coral hospital
HCA Florida Healthcare has unveiled the first architectural rendering of the future HCA Florida Cape Coral Hospital and sharing updates on the $300 million project.
Cape Coral City Council unanimously approved a $31 million, 25-year incentive package Oct. 21 supporting plans to expand the existing HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency site at 322 SW Pine Island Road into a full-service hospital.
Over the next few months, HCA Florida Healthcare will work to finalize Phase I construction plans.
The hospital is anticipated to open in 2029.
The planned hospital is part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s broader commitment to expanding access to care throughout Lee County and Southwest Florida, HCA officials said in a release issued today.
HCA Florida Cape Coral Hospital will become the 51st hospital in HCA Florida Healthcare’s statewide network, which includes more than 670 sites of care.
“This connected network will provide patients in Cape Coral access not only to care available locally, but also to specialists, services and clinical resources across Florida,” the release states.
Recent investments in the region include the opening of HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency, HCA Florida West Fort Myers Emergency and HCA Florida Alico Emergency, as well as the acquisition of HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital. HCA Florida Healthcare’s regional network also includes MD Now urgent care locations and affiliated surgery centers.
In 2025, HCA Healthcare invested $9.52 billion in Florida, including more than $1.44 billion in capital investments to improve access to care, more than $1.59 billion in federal, state and local taxes paid and more than $6.48 billion in salaries, wages and benefits for colleagues.
