Vantage completes park restoration

Vantage Construction Services LLC recently announced the completion of the restoration of the Crescent Beach Family Park on Fort Myers Beach.

It reported it marks another milestone in Southwest Florida and the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Ian.

Restored to provide a welcoming recreational destination, the scope of work for the park included the construction of new walkway paths, relocation of a restroom trailer, installation of a new restroom trailer, bike racks and construction of three new shaded structures, which will have six picnic tables.

Based out of Cape Coral, Vantage Construction Services LLC is a client-focused general contracting company serving Southwest Florida providing consulting, pre-construction, general contracting, construction management and design-build services for commercial construction.

The Crescent Beach Family Park is at 1100 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach.

Cassell joins Stevens Construction

Stevens Construction Inc. has named Brian Cassell as chief financial officer.

As CFO, he is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company’s financial functions, including accounting, finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, tax strategy, compliance, internal controls and risk management.

In addition, Cassell provides executive oversight of information technology functions, ensuring financial strategy, operational infrastructure, technology initiatives and workforce planning remain aligned with the company’s business objectives.

He brings three decades of experience leading finance, operations and strategic growth for global and regional manufacturing, construction and technology firms. Cassell has a proven track record of driving revenue growth, improving profitability, strengthening financial reporting and building high-performing teams, and he has expertise in capital management, governance, operational excellence and strategic planning.

Cassell earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management from Asbury University. He also completed executive education in negotiation strategies and influence skills at the University of Michigan and holds a Six Sigma green belt certification.

For the last three years, Cassell has served on the board of directors for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida.

International airport reports on traffic

During the month of August, 609,026 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. It was a decrease of 6% compared to August 2025.

Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 0.5%.

The traffic leader in August was Delta with 147,022 passengers. Rounding out the top five airlines were American (111,666), Southwest (104,634), United (96,451) and Breeze (47,632).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 5,612 aircraft operations, a decrease of 6.7% compared to August 2025.

Page Field had 15,721 operations, which was a 27% increase compared to August 2025.

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 11.1 million passengers in 2025 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.
