Benchmark promotes Hrabik
Benchmark General Contractors has promoted Doug Hrabik to vice president of operations.
In his new role, he will take full ownership of construction operations from preconstruction through project closeout.

Hrabik will lead project management, field and permitting functions, directing project managers, superintendents and the firm’s permit coordinator.
He is accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety and margin performance across every active project, and for the operational systems and standards.
Hrabik joined Benchmark as senior project manager in October 2025, and he brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial construction.
Hrabik previously spent 15 years as owner and president of Cassnik Contracting LLC, overseeing 30-40 projects a year nationwide. Earlier in his career, he held project management, estimating and marketing roles with Marco Contractors and 84 Lumber Company.
Hrabik holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Robert Morris University, and he lives in Cape Coral.
Brown appointed to task force
Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed co-founder and Family Initiative President David Brown to Florida’s new Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Task Force.
The 10-member task force was created under the 2026 legislative session’s implementing bill to evaluate how ABA services are delivered to children with autism under Florida Medicaid and to recommend a path that keeps that care high-quality, family-centered and financially sustainable.
It is chaired, ex officio, by Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Secretary Shevaun L. Harris and includes physicians, researchers and managed-care leaders from across the state.
Brown is one of three members appointed by the governor and the only task force member whose organization is dedicated specifically to autism services.
He holds more than a decade of experience building and running an ABA provider organization. Brown co-founded Family Initiative in 2015 to make sure families affected by autism never hear “no” when they come looking for help.
Headquartered in Cape Coral, it has grown into a nonprofit serving families across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Dade counties, with almost 100 employees working across clinical, educational and community-based programs.
Family Initiative said the appointment reflect its growing role in shaping autism policy at the state level, following Brown’s earlier participation in an AHCA video series on ABA ethical standards.
The task force is required to report its findings and recommendations to the Legislature by Dec. 31.
Allegiant to offer new nonstop service
The Lee County Port Authority reported that Allegiant will offer new nonstop service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers and Flint, Michigan, in late winter.
The service will operate year-round starting Feb. 11.
