Amy McQuagge

Amy McQuagge was honored as one of the top six board members of the year by The Community Foundation at the Board Leadership Awards and the Top 30 Nonprofit CEOs of Southwest Florida event in late October. McQuagge was honored as an exceptional board member whose strategic vision and dedication has driven impactful outcomes. McQuagge was recognized for her work with PACE Center for Girls, a nonprofit dedicated to providing girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy.

McQuagge began her involvement with PACE by joining the board of directors in 2020. Currently, she serves as vice chair of the board and chair of the development board committee. She also serves on the resource development and Grande Dames Tea committees. In 2023, she was nominated for the national PACE Spirit Award for Board Leadership for effective board participation, thoughtful decision and sound allocation of resources to achieve PACE’s mission and goals. For three years, McQuagge co-chaired Love That Dress!, one of the organization’s largest fundraisers and signature events.

She also serves on the board of directors for A.N.A.’s Friends (formerly the Guardian ad Litem Foundation 20th Judicial Circuit) and routinely volunteers for other causes including the YMCA of Lee County, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, MidWest Food Bank and United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties, among other local nonprofit organizations.

McQuagge joined the bank in 2018 as the organization’s first in-house marketing director and is responsible for providing direction, guidance and leadership for the bank’s marketing and community outreach efforts. She was previously the senior marketing and event manager for the Lee County Economic Development Office, co-owner of a full-service fundraising company and media buyer for several national and regional advertising agencies. A native Lee County resident, McQuagge holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Florida Southern College and is a certified financial marketing professional through the American Bankers Association.

Founded in 2003, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has eight locations open throughout Lee County. In Fort Myers, at the bank’s McGregor Branch, located at 15975 McGregor Blvd., the staff is operating out of a temporary mobile banking unit due to major flood damage to the existing building. Construction on the new building is underway and is expected to be completed in 2025. A ninth branch is planned on Fort Myers Beach, expected to open in 2026.

The bank is nationally ranked in the top 2% best-performing community banks by S&P Global Market Intelligence out of more than 4,400 banks with assets under $1 billion. It is well-capitalized and generates one of the highest returns on equity of all Florida banks. The bank employs more than 120 employees, and more than 60% are current shareholders. Since 2003, the bank has contributed well over $4.5 million to over 400 local, charitable causes and employees volunteer close to 1,000 hours annually.
