‘Young Adult Career Exploration Event’ Thursday in Fort Myers

CareerSource Southwest Florida will hold a free education to career event this Thursday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the CareerSource SWFL center, 6800 Shoppes at Plantation Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33912.

Students (age 18+) who recently graduated from high school or are preparing to graduate can speak with recruiters from local colleges, universities and technical colleges about their education and career goals, explore career opportunities and discover valuable insight into occupations projected for the most growth in SWFL through 2031.

Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida Southwestern College, Keiser University, Fort Myers and Cape Coral Technical College, Fleet Force Trucking School, Florida Academy and Gulf Coast Medical Training Center are among some of the schools who will be in attendance this Thursday.

CareerSource SWFL representatives will be on hand to discuss career path goals, short-term training and educational funding and scholarship opportunities available to attendees as well as what career opportunities are available if a student is looking to explore other career paths.

Attendees can explore the CareerSource SWFL Resource Room to learn what career services are available to them at no cost. They can also discuss resume questions, register online with Employ Florida job search portal, and explore SWFL career opportunities.

CareerSource SWFL representatives will also be on hand to discuss the 2024 Summer Youth Employment Program available to qualified, in-school youth, aged 15-18.

CareerSource SWFL centers in Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, Naples and Immokalee, Clewiston and Glades County are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for walk-in services or those interested in learning more about any of the services available can visit www.careersourceSWFL.com<
