Nor-Tech Boats hosts CCCIA networking social
Local organizations support Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund
Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, in its efforts to continue investing in Southwest Florida’s future workforce, education and economy, hosted the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association’s summer networking social on July 14, to benefit the Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund.
“We appreciate the good things CCCIA is doing. Every month they put on great events, and we were honored to be asked to host in July,” said Henrik Margard, COO at Nor-Tech Boats, a speed boat manufacturer. “It’s all about giving back to the community and this was a great opportunity to share our facility with them and to come together in raising awareness and support for the Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund.”
During the social, both organizations came together in their support of the Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund. Since 1982, the fund has awarded over $700,000 in scholarships to Cape Coral high school seniors that demonstrate exemplary scholastic achievement along with meaningful participation in community involvement. The entire program is funded by the generosity of donors and sponsors and run by volunteers. Margard is also a board member.
“It was a great experience for the members to have Nor-Tech host our networking event,” said Bill Johnson Jr., executive director for CCCIA. “We had about 150 members show up who got to tour the facility and see how these amazing boats are put together while supporting a local cause. I think we are very fortunate to have great partners in many facets of business. To step up and do what Nor-Tech did truly adds value to our membership. To be able to network and find new business colleagues, and to see the one-of-a-kind products they ship all over the world from right here in Cape Coral is just amazing.”
Since 2020, the boating industry has soared as consumers seek to get outdoors and onto the water. Boat sales are at a record high across the globe, and Nor-Tech, leading the way in innovative custom boat manufacturing and design since the 1980s, continues to positively impact the high-performance boating industry and Southwest Florida’s economy.
“We’re always looking for new ways to engage with the community and have a positive impact,” said Margard. “The door is always open for future CCCIA events. It’s nice to be able to show how companies like ours from Cape Coral can help make a difference.”
Nor-Tech is currently expanding its operations with a new 30,000-square-foot production facility to open in 2023 down the street from its headquarters in Cape Coral. This will create additional jobs, help boost a local economy that has historically been dependent on tourism and hospitality, as well as educate young minds interested in progressing in the marine industry. Nor-Tech has additional production sites located in North Fort Myers and St. Augustine. For more information about Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, please visit nor-techboats.com.
