The Development Services permitting counter at City Hall will be closed on Fridays until further notice, beginning on Friday, Aug. 19.

This will allow DSD staff to focus on the backlog of permit applications, city officials said in a release issued Thursday afternoon.

Existing counter appointments made through the City’s Q-Less platform will be honored, and emergency permitting services will still be available at the counter for Electrical Miscellaneous permits. The EnerGov Customer Self Service (CSS) portal will remain open for all electronic permit applications and licensing activities.

The city previously issued what it called a “temporary permit pause” in April to catch up on its permitting backlog.

Department staffers worked from April 9 through April 17 during the pause to catch up on a backlog of more than 4,300 permits.
