Spirit Airlines starts Fort Myers-Manchester service

The Lee County Port Authority has welcomed Spirit Airlines’ new nonstop service to Manchester, New Hampshire, at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Spirit will inaugurate its first nonstop flights between Manchester (MHT) and Fort Myers (RSW) today and operate the service four times weekly.

Spirit Airlines announced the RSW-MHT service in June 2021. To book a flight or find out more information, please visit spirit.com.

Berkey awarded Women in Business’ APEX Award

Kathleen O. Berkey was named 2021 APEX Awards recipient at the annual event of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee.

The APEX Awards recognize local women with outstanding reputations for professionalism, philanthropy and leadership.

The 15th annual APEX Awards were held Nov. 12 at The Westin Resort at Marina Village in Cape Coral. Presented by Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, the awards luncheon honored three finalists and recognized all nominees before naming Berkey the APEX Awards recipient.

Berkey is an attorney, shareholder and certified professional planner at Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a multi-practice commercial law firm, where she represents clients in zoning, land use and planning matters.

The 2021 APEX finalists were Kerri Goldsmith of HBKS Wealth Advisors and Alicia Miller of Our Mother’s Home.

Part of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, the Women in Business committee is dedicated to helping women achieve their fullest professional and personal potential. A variety of networking and educational programs are offered throughout the year, typically the first Wednesday of every month from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Above Board Chamber meeting to feature panel discussion of networking

The Above Board Chamber of Florida’s December meeting will feature expert panels that will discuss the “Art of Networking.”

Local experts will share creative and personal ideas with their audience. The meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Crowne Plaza Bell Tower, at 13950 Bell Tower Drive. The emcee will be Jonathan Gabel, Owner of Priority Business Solutions.

The panelists include Brian Chapman Jr., CEO of Chapman Insurance; Marilyn Santiago, president of Sunshine Integrated Solutions; Stacey Adams, financial advisor for Alliance Financial Group; Talisha Faber, associate director of business development at Cushman & Wakefield Commercial Property SWFL
