The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village’s dining outlets — Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro and Nauti Mermaid — have unveiled new menus.

Those dining at the Nauti Mermaid will enjoy new breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro also features new fare, with a new happy hour as well.

There are also new children’s menus.

The menus are inspired by the restaurants’ locales, waterfront settings and relationships with local purveyors.

“The dishes incorporate ingredients sourced primarily from regional farmers and fishermen to showcase the best local bounty,” said Chef Victoria Wenning, resort chef, The Westin Cape Coral Resort. “With a focus on fresh flavors and a combination of conventional and contemporary cooking techniques, the new menus offer distinctive and delicious dining experiences in Cape Coral.”

The new menu comes after a recent $15 million resort renovation earlier this month, including a makeover and an expansion.

“Guests visiting the newly renovated property can also satisfy their cravings at the resort’s two welcoming and delicious dining destinations,” said General Manager Michael Tighe. “The laid-back, Florida-style eatery, The Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill, is a waterfront bar that offers a full menu in a tranquil atmosphere, with captivating views of the marina and the iridescent waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro features fresh seafood, first-class meats, alluring salads and mouthwatering desserts.”

The resort just completed a renovation of the guest rooms and suites and officials there felt it was fitting to similarly revamp the menus at The Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill and Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro.

“It is also an ideal time to unveil new dishes and cocktails as more people gather and dine out again,” said Wenning. “We wanted to celebrate this by launching a new menu focused on fresh and local ingredients for both visitors and locales alike.”

Wenning said both restaurants’ fish dishes are very popular.

Guests have been enjoying The Mahi Tacos, made with blackened mahi, pickled red onion, oaxaca cheese and a fresh avocado crema slaw.

The Gulf Grouper Sandwich is another popular choice, made with blackened grouper and served on a brioche bun with Cajun ranch slaw and fries.

“The Florida Salad is the perfect mix of flavor profiles, as it includes ingredients such as fresh berries, queso fresco and sunflower seeds,” Wenning said. “Our new menu offerings also cater to vegetarians and vegans with delicious dishes that bring a twist to Mediterranean favorites such as Cauliflower Shawarma and Cauliflower Shakshuka, in addition to the already top-selling Coconut-Braised Heirloom Carrots.”

Wenning loves the Sanibel Pink Shrimp Primavera.

“The cavatappi pasta shape that is used in this dish pairs perfectly with the local shrimp and marries beautifully with scampi sauce,” she said. “I also can’t get enough of the seasonal vegetables served with this dish, the flavors all complement each other and make for an elevated pasta dish many will love.”

In addition to room enhancements, the hotel renovation has increased room inventory from 293 to 308 by converting 15 three-bedroom suites into two-bedroom suites while upgrading the remaining accommodations into new deluxe guest rooms.

Tighe said the theme of the transformation was inspired by the concept of biophilia: A belief that people have an innate desire to connect with nature.

“Room interiors now feature a collection of natural elements in their purest form to create a contemporary residential aesthetic,” Tighe said. “Spacious guestrooms include a collection of locally sourced materials from Florida, including wood and glass elements, along with a soothing fluid pattern motif that plays perfectly in concert with the hotel’s stunning waterfront views.”
