Springtime Farms and Landscaping has tried to be a family-friendly destination for shoppers since it opened four years ago.

In addition to a vast array for plants, shrubs, vines and trees, it offers an Adventure Park with a petting farm, huge jumping pillow and more for kids.

And now, the nursery at 10761 Aqua Vista Lane has added a second park option — an inflatable aqua park, featuring nearly a dozen wet and wild slides and water guns for children to enjoy while mom or dad peruse the plants.

Sabrina Williams, co-owner of Springtime Farms, said it’s simply too hot to not have something like this at an outdoor business.

“The aquapark is geared more toward kids and we didn’t want the kids to roast while the parents are buying plants,” Williams said. “It’s going great. The customers are really happy. There are a few kinks we have to work out, which you only discover once you open, and we’ll have them fixed by next week.”

The business also offers a free plant to anyone who visits.

While selling plants is still the bread and butter of the company, everything they offer seems to complement each other well.

And people came from all over to witness the opening of the new park option, including Cub Scout Pack 8463, Harney Point in Cape Coral, where kids of all ages (adults) got their turn to ride the slides.

“We try to do summer events to keep the kids engaged and this came up as an idea from one of our leaders,” said Pat Long, cubmaster for the troop. “It’s a good time for the scouts to come out and enjoy the outdoors.”

Tori Knieriemen, 10, and her friends made the trip and loved it, with her saying “I liked it. It’s fun.”

Peyton Rowell, 6, said she liked getting wet and going on the big slide.

“I’ve gone on all the slides. It was cool when we first came here. I liked the blue slide because it has a lot of water and you slide really fast,” Rowell said.

Springtime Farms opened in North Fort Myers in 2017 after spending the previous 20 in Clewiston. It opened a new animal park in 2020 and opened the water park this year.

A common area, which should be finished and ready soon, will feature food trucks and a pavilion, rest rooms, and games will also be included.

Admission to either the Petting Farm & Adventure Park — which offers four-acres of fun and educational activities including an interactive petting zoo, 70-foot jumping pillow, butterfly and bird aviaries and playgrounds — or the new Inflatable Aqua Park is $10 Monday through Friday, $12 on Saturdays and Sundays, for an all-day pass.

Admission to both parks may be had for $6 more on the weekend, with a $2 savings offered Monday through Friday.

Springtime Farms is open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
