36th Annual Fort Myers RV Show cancelled

The 36th Annual Fort Myers RV Show, the largest dealer-sponsored RV Show in Florida, has been canceled. It had been scheduled to take place at the Lee Civic Center, January 21 to 24, 2021.

The Fort Myers RV Show cancelation has no impact on the Florida RV SuperShow, which is still scheduled to take place at the Tampa Fairgrounds, January 13 to 17, 2021.

Sponsored by Region 1 of the statewide Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA), show committee members made the hard decision to cancel the event as it became obvious that inventory issues caused by manufacturer supply chain problems would not allow participating dealers to display their various product lines.

“Many of our dealer participants said they had limited inventory on their lots,” detailed Region 1 President Everett Henkel III. “The Fort Myers RV Show is Florida’s premier dealer-sponsored show and we always want to provide attendees with the opportunity to see the most and best RVs possible.”

Last year, the Fort Myers RV Show featured 13 dealers displaying hundreds of new RVs along with 100 booth vendors. The show attracted almost 12,000 paid attendees.

According to Henkel, the decision to cancel was difficult since this would have been the 36th year for this quality event. “We look forward to the show returning once again to the Lee Civic Center, Jan. 27 to 30, 2022,” Henkel said.

Furthermore, he said the Region was still planning their annual spring RV Show in hopes that the supply chain issues would be eliminated by then.
