John Michaels Diamond and Jewelry Studio celebrating 30 years in business

John Michaels Diamond and Jewelry Studio in Cape Coral is celebrating 30 years in business this month. The owners of the South Cape jewelry store are showing their appreciation to their loyal customers by offering a store-wide appreciation sale offering up to 75 percent off.
Owner John Michael Glorioso said, “We want to thank all our friends, family and customers for supporting us for the last 30 years. We are grateful for our loyal customers and the support we have received from everyone.”
John Michaels Diamond and Jewelry studio has seen many changes in the last 30 years in Cape Coral. Opening the store in 1986 as John Michaels Fine Jewelry, Glorioso’s vision was to provide a personalized jeweler experience while showcasing beautiful jewelry to the community. Although always located on Cape Coral Parkway, the store has seen a few locations over the years.
The original store location was just 500 square feet in size. Working mostly from catalogues, the store only had three display cases on site. During the early years, Glorioso, worked two jobs to help keep his dream of owning his own store alive.
Carole Glorioso, John’s sister, started working in the store in 1986. She said, “John asked me to become part of his dream and help build the store. I quit my job working for a local dentist and became a part of John Michaels Fine Jewelry.”
The store experienced great early success. Within the first two years the store doubled its size and expanded to 1,000 square feet in the same location. During this time the store employed its first full-time jeweler.
After many years of operation, John Michael did a full store remodel in 2004 in its original location. Then, in August 2004, the store was badly damaged by Hurricane Charley. The building lost its roof, which forced the store to relocate to a portable trailer for three months. The community came together to support each other during this time.
John Michael said, “Things were so crazy back then, we had to get help from a local bank to store our jewelry in their safety deposit boxes because the trailer was not secure. The community really came together during that time.”
John Michaels Fine Jewelry opened its second location in the back of Big John’s Plaza. With a new store open, the store continued to grow.
John Michael said, “Our customer base has been so loyal and supportive over the years, without them we would not have any success. We have made many great friends in the community.”
After operating in the backside of Big John’s Plaza for 10 years, John Michael was ready to expand the store once again. Moving just a few doors down, the store doubled in space again. Staying on trend, John Michael renamed the store, John Michaels Diamond and Jewelry Studio. The expansion included the addition of a Cape Coral Parkway entrance, larger store and extensive remodel.
John Michael said, “I wanted to expand the store into the new location to continue my dream. The showroom is a beautiful place, where customers can come and shop for beautiful jewelry.”
