A sample of her creations, right.

Palm frond artist Jean Stanish uses discarded palm fronds for her canvas. She calls it upcycle artistically. She allows the natural texture and shape of each frond to inspire her and guide her brush – one frond becomes a colorful fish. Another emerges as mermaid with gorgeous flowing hair.

Her personal favorite is the lion with dried palm leaves for the mane. There is a three dimensional sculptural quality to her work. No two pieces are alike.

Stanish has a studio at 1059 N.E. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, where her creations can be purchases. She also gives lessons in watercolor and acrylics. Call 239-849-8781
