Earlier Waste Pro summer pickup time in effect Friday
Residential waste collection will begin at 5 a.m. from May 1 through Sept. 30 each year to help combat the summer heat.
Each residence is provided a tan bin for household waste and a green bin for recyclables; both bins remain City property and must stay with the home.
Residents should follow collection guidelines to ensure proper service, city officials said.
Guidelines include:
Trash Collection:
Collection runs Monday through Friday. Residents can view their collection day online.
Garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste are collected on the same day.
Place bins at the edge of the road with wheels and handles facing the house.
No collection on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.
When a holiday falls on a weekday, service is delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
Yard Waste:
The City collects residential yard waste, including branches, limbs, grass clippings, leaves, weeds, fallen fruit, and palm fronds.
Extra garbage and recycling:
Place additional bagged garbage next to the cart when the bin is full.
Set out extra recycling in a clearly labeled cardboard box.
