The city of Cape Coral’s reclaimed (reuse) irrigation water pumps are temporarily shut down while crews work to isolate a leak on a reuse main and complete repairs.

This shutdown is necessary to safely lower system pressure and allow crews to access and fix the break, city officials said,

As a result, properties with irrigation schedules on Mondays from 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. — addresses ending in 0 — will not be able to irrigate tonight using reuse water. This outage affects reuse irrigation water only and does not impact potable (drinking) water service.

“City crews are actively working at the site and anticipate having the repair completed and reuse service restored by around midnight tonight,’ city officials said in a release issued shortly before 8:30 p.m. “Customers whose irrigation windows fall after service is restored may resume normal irrigation at their next regularly scheduled time.

“The City appreciates residents’ patience while this important repair is completed and encourages customers to continue following Cape Coral’s irrigation schedule once service is restored.”
