One missing, one dead, two injured in boat crash in river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club
Officials continue to search for a missing boater following a crash in the river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club that resulted in at least one death on Saturday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Cape Coral Police Department, Cape Coral Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County EMS all responded to the scene of the incident on the Caloosahatchee River.
“Preliminary information indicates that a single vessel with four occupants onboard, was traveling on the river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club when an incident occurred. Three of the occupants of the vessel were transported to a nearby hospital where one of them was declared deceased as a result of the incident,” a release from the FWC states.
“The fourth occupant of the vessel is missing and we are still searching for them at this time. That is all the information we can provide at this point. The FWC is the lead agency and we will provide updates when we are able to do so.”
