City to hold ribbon-cutting, more at new preserve
The city of Cape Coral invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in celebration of the opening of the Yellow Fever Creek Preserve — a new addition to the parks system.
City officials will participate in the event. Open to the public, no reservation is required to attend.
Following the ceremony, attendees can explore the preserve on guided tours led by staff. Animal encounters will also be available, offering opportunities for petting and photos.
Attendees are encouraged to wear rubber boots or shoes that can get dirty.
The Yellow Fever Creek Preserve provides camping areas for recreation, adventure and exploration. Amenities include individual and group campsites, nature trails, a fishing pond, a disc golf course, an outdoor classroom, a welcome center and restrooms.
