Oktoberfest to return with live music, food and more
One of the biggest events in Cape Coral has announced its official dates for this year’s celebration.
The German-American Social Club of Cape Coral’s (GASC) Oktoberfest hits the Bavarian Gardens Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25.
The 41st annual event is the region’s premier celebration of German culture, cuisine and community spirit.
“It’s truly one of the highlights of our entire year here at the German-American Social Club,” said GASC spokesperson Holly Jo King. “Countless hours of hard work go into organizing Oktoberfest, but seeing the community come together and knowing that it all supports our organization’s fundraising efforts makes every single second worth it. We start planning for the next one almost as soon as the current one ends.”
Attendees can expect authentic homemade-style specialties including schnitzel, bratwurst and pretzels paired with imported German beers, domestic brews, wines and spirits. American festival classics and non-alcoholic beverages also will be available.
No Oktoberfest could be complete without music under the big tent and throughout the grounds. The club’s German friends straight from Bavaria — The Maselheimer Musikanten and Die Aichers — will perform, while attendees dance away to local bands in the Biergarten.
“If you’ve never been, you’re missing out on a true Southwest Florida tradition,” King said. “It’s the closest thing to an authentic Oktoberfest you’ll find without buying a plane ticket. From the live music on two stages, traditional dancing and hospitality from the German-American Social Club volunteers, to the authentic German food and cold beer, there’s an incredible energy here. It’s warm, family-friendly and an absolute blast for all ages.”
The event also features a carnival area with rides and games for children, vendor booths, and dining in the Von Steuben Hall.
General admission tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate, with free admission for children ages 12 and under. On-site parking is free.
