Lee Sheriff’s Youth Activities League to host annual Run for the Youth 5k

The Lee Sheriff’s Youth Activities League (SYAL) is hosting the fourth annual Run for the Youth 5k on Jan. 27, at Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers.

Race participants can pre-register for the event on Jan. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. at Fleet Feet in Bell Tower, 13499 S Cleveland Ave., Suite 209, Fort Myers. Registration the day of the race begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. Registration, which costs $40, is also available online at leesyal.org/5k.

Sponsorships are still available for the race, which benefits the Lee Sheriff’s Youth Activities League, a non-profit organization providing services for Lee County youth. The most popular program of the organization is the Teen Driver Challenge, which teaches teens to drive safely.

At the race, the organization will kick off a fund-raising raffle event for two gift certificates donated by DiamondHead Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach. Two winners will receive a gift certificate for a two-night stay in a one-bedroom Gulf-view suit at the DiamondHead Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach.

A single raffle entry costs $10, or three entries for $25. Two winners will be drawn from the entrants on March 1. To purchase raffle tickets and view details and restrictions, visit the website at leesyal.org/raffle.
