TRACK AND FIELD

Mackenzie De Lisle of Bishop Verot won the FHSAA Class 2A championship in the 1600 meters Thursday in Jacksonville. Her winning time of 4:59.82 was more than a second faster than the next-best competitor.

De Lisle also finished fourth in the 3200 meters. Jazlyn Forbes of Oasis came in seventh in the same event.

Ryan Peterson of the Vikings finished third in the discus. James Little IV was fourth in the 110 hurdles and fifth in the 400 hurdles. Jadrien Carmo was seventh in the 400 meters and Andrew Marino came in seventh in the 3200.

Verot’s 4×400 relay team finished eighth.

Competition continues today with the Class 3A meet at the University of North Florida.
