Benchmark General Contractors has begun work on a $3.1 million-plus sanctuary renovation project at McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers.

“Projects like this one at McGregor Baptist Church represent exactly the kind of meaningful work we are proud to do in our community,” said Brad Nickel, president and owner of Benchmark General Contractors. “This renovation will have a lasting impact on the congregation and the surrounding community, and our team is committed to delivering the quality and craftsmanship this space deserves.”

The comprehensive interior renovation will transform the church’s sanctuary with an extensive array of upgrades and finishes. Following demolition and concrete trenching, the project will deliver new floor coverings, stone veneer, custom lighting systems, acoustical treatments and aesthetics, wood trims and paneling, new doors, glass partitions, fully redesigned pews, completely redone restrooms, fresh paint and updated audiovisual controls.

The scope also includes stage elements and fixture upgrades throughout, delivering a fully modernized worship environment for the congregation.

The project carries an estimated timeline of 180 days from permit issuance – approximately six months – with construction set to deliver a significantly elevated facility upon completion.

Benchmark’s project team leading the McGregor Baptist Church renovation includes Brandi Schulte as senior project manager, Dane Johnson as site superintendent and Hunter Souders as assistant project manager.
