The Cape Coral Animal Shelter will host the 6th Annual PJ’s and Paws — A Night at the Shelter, a one-of-a-kind overnight pajama party benefiting the animals who call the shelter home, Friday, Feb. 27.

This overnight event brings together animal lovers and representatives from local businesses and organizations who don their pajamas to spend the night with shelter pets. The shelter is still seeking participants and welcomes individuals as well as corporate teams looking for a unique team-building experience that truly makes a difference.

Each participant will be paired with one of the shelter’s dogs or assigned a luxurious “cat manor” for the evening — and yes, decorating their suite to wow their furry “date” is highly encouraged.

The night is filled with unforgettable moments: reading bedtime stories, going for walks, playing games, sharing quiet cuddles and simply spending quality one-on-one time together. Participants and pets will also take part in a playful painting party, where dogs and cats (with a little human help) create colorful abstract art that participants take home as a keepsake of this special night.

As the shelter settles into peaceful quiet, participants can snuggle up and spend the night with their furry companion — or gently tuck them in, sending them off to dream about their future forever homes.

Each participant will fundraise a minimum of $2,000, working through their personal networks and social media, with a collective goal of raising $40,000 to support the shelter’s lifesaving work. Throughout the evening, the fun will be shared with the community through Facebook Live check-ins, giving everyone a front-row seat to the pajamas, personalities, and precious pets.
