Cape Coral will be partying as they do in the “Big Easy” this weekend, as the 12th annual South Cape Mardi Gras Pub Crawl takes to the entertainment district.

Hosted by the South Cape Hospitality and Entertainment Association, the festive trolley-bus event takes place this Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m., where attendees can traverse 10 different Cape hotspots to enjoy themed drink and appetizer samples.

“We are over-the-moon excited for this event,” said SCHEA spokesperson David Delli Paoli. “Mardi Gras really brings out the festive side of people.”

Tickets include a wristband to board the trolleys, a passport to all sampling locations, drink and appetizer samples, and access to the official photo booth contest at Dolphin Key Resort. Crawlers who get their passport stamped at each venue will be entered into the grand prize giveaway, and the photo booth contest winner will receive four tickets to the South Cape ShamROCKED Pub Crawl on March 14.

Limo buses will transport attendees to four designated areas, making it easy to walk among multiple stops.

“The Mardi Gras vibe is strong and contagious at this event,” Paoli said. “The food and drink samples are top notch. Plus, there’s always some great entertainment at each of the stops. This event is definitely an experience to remember.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the occasion, with beads, masks, feathers, and all things purple, green and gold. SCHEA enjoys seeing how imaginative people can get.

“Seeing people getting dressed up just warms our hearts,” Paoli said. “Everyone works hard and faces struggles, so it is great to see people immerse themselves as they enjoy the moment and have fun.”

Participating locations and their samples include:

• BackStreets Sports Bar – Wicked Dolphin Punch & Coconut Shrimp

• Cruisers – Ian & Jambalaya

• The Dive – TBD

• Dixie Roadhouse – TBD

• Monkey Bar – Hurricane & Wings

• Nevermind Awesome Bar & Eatery – TBD

• Ralph’s Place – TBD

• Rusty’s Raw Bar & Grill – TBD

• Sage on 47th – King’s Cake Cocktail & Seafood Etouffee

• Tiki Bar – Tiki Punch & Cajun Shrimp

“This event features some of the most creative and delectable drink and food choices out of all of our events,” Paoli said of the participating establishment. “They all do a fantastic job of channeling that New Orleans vibe.”

SCHEA officials said participants can expect lots of entertainment, including live music, dancing, and a fun evening no matter who you choose to attend with.

Tickets can be purchased online and are $25 each ($30 day-of) or $20 for designated drivers.
