CCPD to provide critical training course

The Cape Coral Police Department will host a two-day training course this fall designed to teach skills and survival strategies for violent critical incidents including those involving active shooters. On Aug. 5 and 6 at CCPD headquarters, the department will make ALICE Training and certification available to anyone in the community who wishes to take part. ALICE Training, which is an acronym for “Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate,” has to mission to improve chances of survival in situations such as an active shooter.
