Cape man facing gun charges following Sunday incident
On Sunday, May 5, at around 9:35 p.m., the Cape Coral Police Department received multiple calls about a black Mercedes sedan driving recklessly and gunshots were heard coming from the vehicle near the 900 block of Northeast 8th Place, Cape Coral. The driver was described as a black male wearing a white shirt, police said. According to a report from the CCPD, officers found the black Mercedes sedan parked in the driveway of a home in the 800 block of Northeast 10th Terrace. The garage door was open and the car was unoccupied and running. Officers observed broken windows on the vehicle. Officers also reportedly saw a black male in a white shirt, later identified as Ven-Basten Valcourt, 31, inside the residence pacing and looking out the windows.
