British swine flu cases rise to 13

By Staff | May 1, 2009

LONDON (AP) – The number of confirmed swine flu cases in Britain has risen to 13.

The U.K. Health Protection Agency said Friday that two of the cases involve people who didn’t travel to Mexico, meaning the virus was transmitted from one person to another within Britain.

One of those two people lives in Scotland, while the other lives in England.

Health officials believe the patient in Scotland caught the flu from a friend he plays football with. They say that friend recently got the flu while on his honeymoon in Mexico.
