FLAG FOOTBALL

Ida Baker 25, North Fort Myers 19 (3 OT): Eyvette Osme’s second touchdown of the game provided the Bulldogs’ margin of victory in the third overtime. Liliana Porchelli had touchdown passes of 60 yards to Addison Denty and 20 yards to Taylor Rau. Jenna Lopez had five pass receptions for Baker (2-0). Osme and Denty also contributed on defense with an interception each. Reagan Zumar had six sacks and Eve Johnson made three. North was playing its season opener.

Cape Coral 12, Mariner 0: Brooke Pabst passed for two touchdowns, one to Seahawks leading rusher Kyra Hayes. Sofia Soutullo-Guinart’s fourth-quarter interception sealed the victory, preserving the shutout for a defense led by Layla Sombrato and Victoria Dorn. It was the first game for the Seahawks, while the Tritons slipped to 1-1.

South Fort Myers 32, Island Coast 12: The Wolfpark are 2-0, the Gators 0-2.

SOFTBALL

Cape Coral 17, South Fort Myers 4: Emma Brannan doubled twice, knocking in two runs and scoring three times for the Seahawks (3-1). Caitlin Perez also had two RBI for Cape. The Seahawks stole 15 bases and took advantage of 10 walks. Alice Buice had six steals.

Gateway 22, Island Coast 5: Emily Rodriguez had two hits and two RBI for the Gators. Brianna Neitzke, Adrianna Curry and Taylor Sheene also drove in runs for Island Coast.

Mariner 4, Estero 3: Gabi Winters drove in two runs while Stephanie Sarracione and Kaylen Rounding each had an RBI for the Tritons (2-2). Alaina Shugars had two hits and scored twice.

Bishop Verot 4, Clearwater Central Catholic 0: Gianni Torres tripled and drove in two Vikings runs. Lillie Layne added an RBI for Bishop Verot (3-0). Paige Bettermann (1-0) and Crimson Lawrence combined for 12 strikeouts in their 1-hit shutout.

BASEBALL

South Fort Myers 10, Cape Coral 5: Jomar Morales had two hits and two RBI for the Seahawks. Cape fell to 0-5 to open the season.

Island Coast 8, Gateway 0: Grady Schwiezer drove in three runs on a pair of hits as the Gators evened their record at 2-2. Mason Blackburn had two hits and two RBI. Ryan Mueller earned the win with six innings of shutout work.

Estero 6, Mariner 0: DJ Dwire doubled for the Tritons (0-4).

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Bishop Verot 4, Canterbury 1: Ava Irion, Kasey Corr, Marissa Peck, Lindsey Walsh, Camryn Hedge, Bella Higby, Sidney Blackwood and Madelyn Wells teamed up to win four of the five pairings for the 2-0 Vikings.

Cypress Lake 4, Cape Coral 1: The Seahawks (0-2) won the first pairing, but the Panthers took over from there.
