BASEBALL

Island Coast 15, Lehigh 0 (4 innings): Emilio Gonzalez powered the defending state champs with a homer, double and five RBI. Gonzalez was 2-for-2 and scored twice. The Gators (6-2) got a solo homer from Isaac Lopez, who went 3-for-3 and scored three runs. Mason Blackburn (2-for-3) drove in two runs, and Jake Mueller was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs scored. Kevin Martinez (2-for-2) scored four times. The Gators took advantage of 10 walks.

Bishop Verot 16, Shorecrest Prep (4 innings): Joseph Lawson had a six-RBI game for the Vikings (5-5), including a grand slam. Owen Rardin tripled, scored three times and drove in a Verot run. Fidel Alviar, Andrew Hanlon, Maddix Simpson and Jason Bello had an RBI each. Bello and Rardin combined for four innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts.

ECS 8, Ida Baker 5: Evangelical Christian scored six times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past the Bulldogs (6-4). Aidan Powers doubled and homered, driving in three Ida Baker runs. Brendon Donnelly added an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Cypress Lake 15, Cape Coral 0 (3 innings): The Seahawks are 2-6.

ECS 12, Ida Baker 1 (5 innings): Makayla Nieves drove in Julie Nieves for the lone Ida Baker (5-3) run.

Lehigh 15, Island Coast 0 (3 innings): The Gators (2-6) were limited to one hit in three innings.

Sarasota 5, North Fort Myers 0: The Sailors blanked North (6-1) on four hits and a walk.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Estero 5, Cape Coral 0: Cape Coral slipped to 1-1 on the season.

GIRLS LACROSSE

St. Stephen’s Episcopal 14, Bishop Verot 2: St. Stephen’s remained unbeaten (7-0) while dropping the Vikings to 6-3.
