America’s Boating Course schedule set in Cape

The Cape Coral Power Squadron has scheduled eight America’s Boating Course sessions in the coming months. The course is 12 hours in length and the classes will be held on the following Mondays — Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Jan. 4, Feb. 1, March 2, April 5, May 3 and June 7, each starting at 7 p.m., at the Cape Coral Sail and Power Squadron, 917 S.E. 47th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33904.

America’s Boating Course gives you the basics you need to get out on the water safely, and it meets most states boating education requirements. The 12-hour courses include an introduction to use of local nautical charts.

Additional topics include boat handling, cruising/cruise planning, engine maintenance, hurricane preparedness for boaters, marine electrical systems, marine communication systems, electronic navigation, paddle smart, weather and more.
