To the editor:

What a year it has been and as we look to leaders in our community for guidance there has been one that stands out consistently over the years helping SWFL fight on issues that matter most. Jason Maughan has been at the forefront of many concerns facing residents of SWFL and as a leader of Sanibel, Jason has built up the experience and expertise to represent the good people of SWFL. It’s vital that we vote our values and I’ll be voting for Jason Maughan for State Representative! I want to encourage you to do the same.

Jason is an effective advocate for limited government, clean water, lower taxes and defending our rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States. His experience on several city and county committees, means he understands how local government works — and doesn’t. He can hit the ground running on day one of his term fighting for you. I especially appreciate Jason’s thoughtful leadership. Always seeking out ideas and different perspectives, weighs the alternatives, considers possible outcomes and develops reasonable positions. He is approachable and engaged, genuinely committed to governing well.
