To the editor:

The attacking of Cape Coral Councilman Rick Williams is both childish and a sickening misuse of tax-payer dollars. Councilman Williams has, for many years, served with dignity and is directly responsible for making the Cape a better place. If he said something that some thought was inappropriate, and then apologized for it that should end the conversation.

It’s shameful for some on the Council to spend time belaboring a non-issue, especially at a time when we are faced with enormous problems, and serves to show Council members in an infantile light.

Shame on any elected official who has attacked Councilman Williams and those members who can’t exercise “forgiving” should stop embarrassing this city and play some place else. Rick Williams is a good man, he has served us well, and he deserves better.
