James Alvarez

James Alvarez, 72, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral. He was born on June 28, 1951, in Honolulu, HI and has resided in Cape Coral since relocating from California 31 years ago.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Debralee Amalei Alvarez (nee Needham); they were married 51 years. James is survived by his children, Debralee A. Alvarez, James Alvarez Jr and his wife Amanda, Dionne A. Salters and her husband Danny, Jacob Alvarez and his wife Jessica, Deann A. Shipman and her husband Adrian; 25 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; his dad Angelino “Al” Alvarez along with multiple nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Alvarez Sr and his mother Juanita Alvarez (nee Pacheco).

He spent his early years working for his own Masonry company which he loved. He was a loyal husband and father who loved fishing and walked with the Lord. His family and friends will miss his generosity, kindness, humor, wit, and all the wonderful stories he would share. Not to mention all the questions and guidance we have received throughout the years. He loved to sing karaoke with his wife and anyone else willing to join in. He was loved beyond belief and will be missed beyond measure.

A private celebration of life in memory of James will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 4:00pm at the family’s home in Cape Coral. James’ ashes will remain at home with his wife until they can be together for eternity in their final resting place.
