Carl Russell Loiocano

Carl Russell Loiocano, born June 17, 1923 in North East, Pa., to his parents, Carl L. and Lucy B (Martina) Loiocano, passed away Aug. 5, 2014, in Cape Coral.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jean Bowker Loiocano; children, Beth (David) Scarborough, Carol (Robert) Rymanowski, Lawrence (Valerie) Loiocano; grandchildren, Aaron and Sean Rathman, Holly and Lucy Loiocano; and great- grandchildren, Darren, Michael, and Zachary Rathman and Dacota Vinson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Carl Loiocano, and daughter, Barbara Jean Loiocano.

He was a decorated World War II Army Air Corps veteran and was a POW in Sagan in 1944. He was a member of the 455th Bombardment Group and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart among many others.

He enjoyed spending time tinkering with electronics, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and summers at Bear Lake, N.Y., with his family.

A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 15, at 1:30 p.m., at the Church of the Epiphany, 2507 Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Church of the Epiphany in memory of Carl.
