Sylvia Mitzlaff

Sylvia Mitzlaff, of Del Tura Golf and Country Club in North Fort Myers, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, after an extended illness. She was born March 11, 1941, in Kingston, Ontario, to Richard and Dorothy Fray, and was one of six children.

After moving to the United States as a child, she lived in a variety of locations, including Chicago; Greenville and Sharon, Pa.; Covington and Roanoke, Va.; and Cape Coral. She led an eventful life throughout all of her journeys and travels, and kept active with her love of cross-stitching, playing bridge, golfing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Louis O. “Mike” Mitzlaff; children, Richard Wallace, Daniel Wallace, Steven Wallace, Brian Wallace and Debbie Edwards; stepchildren, Paul Mitzlaff, Tony Mitzlaff, Bill Mitzlaff, Tom Mitzlaff, Chris Mitzlaff and Jimmy Mitzlaff; and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Virginia Collins, Dorothy Little, Richard McCarthy, John McCarthy and Jerry McCarthy.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 2507 Del Prado Blvd., with a reception hosted by the family to follow at Del Tura Golf and County Club, 18621 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers.
