County burn ban expires

By Staff | Jun 11, 2024

The burn ban that went into effect June 4 for all of unincorporated Lee County and its municipalities has expired.

According to the Lee County officials, the ban was allowed to expire at 12 a.m. today because rainfall has reduced the risk of wildfires.

The county’s ordinance banned “outdoor burning ignition sources,” including campfires, bonfires and trash burning. Grills for food and backyard fire rings were not included.
