By Staff | Dec 7, 2023

Attempted Vehicle Burglaries

On Dec. 2, at approximately 3 a.m., Cape Coral Police Department officers responded to a vehicle burglary in progress in northwest Cape Coral.

Officers spoke with a Lee County Deputy who advised he had video footage of a man attempting to open the door handle on both his personal vehicle and his marked Lee County patrol car. Both vehicles were locked and the suspect walked away.

Officers on the scene found approximately nine vehicles that were entered through unlocked doors within the neighborhood.

Detectives are asking for the community’s assistance to help identify the suspect involved in the security camera footage.

Please let this serve as a reminder to all our Cape Coral residents that it is imperative to lock all of your car doors. Good neighborhoods with low crime rates can be a target for outside suspects.
