Cape’s Friends of Wildlife to hold general meeting Sept. 12

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife (CCFW) invites you to attend their next General Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Rotary Park Environmental Center, 5505 Rose Garden Road, Cape Coral.

Carrie Schuman, Ph.D., Coastal Resilience Manager for the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) will join to discuss “Impact of Hurricane Ian and Climate Change on Southwest Florida’s Ecosystems and Wildlife”.

In her role as SCCF Coastal Resilience Manager, Dr. Schuman assists the communities of Sanibel and Captiva in achieving coastal resilience as they plan for future stressors of climate change including warming temperatures, sea level rise, and increased precipitation and storm intensity.

The schedule:

• 6:30 p.m. Meet and Greet

• 7 p.m. “Impact of Hurricane Ian and Climate Change on Southwest Florida’s Ecosystems and Wildlife”, Dr. Carrie Schuman

• 7:50 p.m. CCFW General Membership Meeting – All are Welcome.
