A Cape Coral woman was involved in a traffic accident early this morning on I-75 that sent her and a Fort Myers woman to the hospital with injuries.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:32 a.m. today, March 15, a 20-year-old woman from the Cape was driving a sedan south in the inside lane of I-75 south of Colonial Boulevard at mile marker 137 when she collided with the rear of a motorcycle driven by a 60-year-old Fort Myers woman, who was also headed south in the same lane of traffic.

The motorcycle driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and the Cape driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, FHP reported.

The accident remains under investigation.
