Republican Women to hear 2022 candidates during monthly forum

Republican candidates for Lee County Clerk of Court have been invited to participate in the legislative forum of the Fort Myers Republican Women’s Club.at the Tuesday, July 19, luncheon meeting. Republican candidates for District 5 County Commissioner have also been invited to speak briefly, giving their qualifications and reason for running for the seat left vacant through the death of Frank Mann.

The luncheon is held in the Helm Club at The Landings, South Fort Myers.

The public is invited to attend the luncheon and the program. A social hour begins at 11:15 a.m. The noon lunch will be followed by the commissioner candidates’ comments and the clerk of court forum. A question-and-answer session follows the formal presentations.

A special collection of new and gently worn dresses will be made prior to the luncheon. The dresses will be sold during the annual Pace “Dress for Less” event in August. FMRWC members are encouraged to clean out their closets in support of the dress collection.

The primary election is on Aug. 23. Final candidates for the various offices will be determined by that vote. The general election is Nov. 8.

The luncheon cost is $20. Reservations are required by Thursday, July 14, and may be made by contacting Diane Kinser, Social.lady79@gmail.com. or Tina Laurie, 239-489-4701. Attendees may write their checks to the Republican candidate of their choice and the club will pay for the luncheon.

2022 FMRWC membership is available at $25. Associate members (men) may join at $15. Checks may be paid at the luncheon meeting or sent to Tina Laurie at 5260 S. Landings Drive, #407, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
